Publisher's Description

Feb 17, 2013 Download SeaMonkey for Mac to reveal, refine, and take full advantage of high-performance, all-in-one Internet application suite. SeaMonkey has had 3 updates within the past 6 months.

Right-click the old SeaMonkey.app and click 'Show Package Contents.' Open the Contents folder, then within that folder, open the Resources folder. Find the folder called plugins and copy it. Find the new 'SeaMonkey.app' file that you downloaded by searching in Finder under 'This Mac'. Right-click the new 'SeaMonkey.app' and click 'Show Package. The SeaMonkey Project only supports the latest stable version of SeaMonkey. The below versions are only listed for historical reasons. For some legacy platforms like PPC Mac, the SeaMonkey Project has dropped support. There are however independent projects that continue to support some of these platforms. Jul 08, 2021 SeaMonkey for Mac, free and safe download. SeaMonkey latest version: Web-browser, advanced email, IRC chat and more from Mozilla.

SeamMonkey is an all-in-one Internet application suite. Web-browser, advanced e-mail and newsgroup client, IRC chat client, and HTML editing made simple -- all your Internet needs in one application.

The SeaMonkey project is a community effort to deliver production-quality releases of code derived from the application formerly known as 'Mozilla Application Suite'.

Note that this 2.1 build is not a final release !!!!
'Be careful! The SeaMonkey version described this page is a testing-only preview of the next generation of our Internet suite. Please test it carefully, it's not yet in a state where we can encourage you to use it for daily browsing and mail operations.

I'll give it an average notation... because I can't use it on my MacBook Pro! I'll explain : I've repeatedly (and so far, unsuccessfully) to install it on my Mac, but every time I double-click on Seamonkey's icon, nothing happens. I mean, I do get a mention of Seamonkey on my toolbar, but that's that. No menu, no screen, no nothing.
I've expurged my Preferences folder of every file and sub-folder bearing the Seamonkey or Mozilla names, to no avail. Visited numerous forums (fora?) too, tried every trick the people there sent my way, but still it wouldn't come, as the Alanis Morissette song goes... I know from past experiences that SM is one fine browser. I'd just like to be able to use it on my Mac...
Ideas, anyone?

Back in the late 90s, the rage was to make Internet software as easy to use as possible. Indeed, I ran a business based around producing a suite of software that got users on to the net with ease. One particular suite, Turnpike, was sold to Demon Internet, for millions of pounds, before Microsoft started to take the Internet more seriously (read: build apps into the operating system).

After this, users could install Windows and find Internet Explorer, basic email and a dialup client that enabled them to connect to their ISP with few issues. Internet suites became somewhat redundant and the Internet was dominated by one browser and one key developer. Bad times.

More recently things have changed somewhat and users have realised that third-party developers can design and produce software that enhances their browsing experience. However, with some many choices, options and solutions, it’s easy for these tools to interact poorly. For this reason, anyone who can produce a fully-integrated all-in-one Internet suite, is on to a winner.

Mozilla have achieved this with their SeaMonkey suite. It’s not a new suite of Internet software, as it’s been around for a few years. It’s also based on customised versions of the Mozilla applications - you’ll find a web browser, an email client, IRC chat client and a web editor for producing your own homepage.

Verdict:

Seamonkey Os

Interesting suite of Internet software, which could be useful for some novice users, but it's up to you whether you want an integrated suite or not
